I've been teaching young children for over 15 years. As I teach I get inspired to try new things every year. Some of them are my own creations and others come from something I've seen or done. I've created this blog as a place to share the things that I am doing in my preschool. I hope you can find inspiration for yourself, somewhere on this blog!

Soda Bottle Halloween Monsters

In October I asked parents to send in empty 2-liter soda bottles.  I turned them into the cutest decorations for Halloween.  (I think I adapted this from an idea I saw online for a bowling game, but these were too cute to be knocking over!)  I used my Cricut to cut out all of the pieces I needed.  The bats on the vampires are taped to pipe cleaners that are simply wrapped around the neck of the bottles.  I showed them how to assemble the different pieces, but then I didn't interfere after that, so you can see how each one has a different personality.  I made the Frankenstein with the 3-year-olds, and all of them with the 4-year-olds, over the course of three days.  These were a little more prep than I usually like to do (I keep things simple and easy) but it was worth it when I saw the finished products!
